The Tale of the Bunny Picnic is a storybook adaptation based on the television special of the same name. The text follows the script of the special faithfully, with very few deviations from the original dialogue of the special. The back cover of the book included a short note from Jim Henson: “Dear Reader, The Tale of the Bunny Picnic is a story about Bean Bunny, his brother Lugsy, his sister Twitch, and an adventure they have at a very unusual bunny picnic. If you've been to a bunny picnic, you know how much fun they can be. If you've never been to one, I think you're in for a treat.
