Maecht is one of the kingdoms and a province in the Nilfgaardian Empire. To the north, it shares a natural border with Metinna, the Sylte. Eastward lies Geso and to the south is Ebbing. Its coat of arms is a silver fish on a field of crowns. A pretense of autonomy is kept in Maecht with a king who appears to have been freely chosen, but the reality is that he is a puppet who obeys the will of the Nilgaardian emperor. Duny claims the people of Maecht are very superstitious.
