Reverend Canon Richard Rhodes Bristow (1838 - 15 March 1914) was a Church of England clergyman. The youngest son of Henry Essex Bristow, a City of London merchant, he was educated at St Mary Hall, Oxford, graduating in 1866. H and was ordained a priest. His first clerical post was as curate at St Philip's, Clerkenwell. In 1867 he moved to St Stephen's, Lewisham where he became vicar in 1868. Bristow was a "High Church" Anglican, and president of the Gregorian Choral Association. (Information on the archives of the GCA can be found here [1]
