During the events of Chapter 2 where Lord Crump and the X-Nauts have taken over The Great Tree, the Jabbies team up with them by building hives to block off the Punis. There are two different Jabbi hives: one that contains 10 Jabbis and another that contains 100 of them. After Mario and Punio frees the Puni Elder, she will let 10 more Punis follow Mario and the Jabbis were taken down. After the rest of the Punis are freed, the 100 Jabbi army are defeated. If one returns to the rooms where they fought the Jabbis later in the game, there are Jabbis which Mario can interact with.
