HMC-10 was a droid who was designed for research in the biological sciences, and was deployed on the planet Ziost during the Invasion of Ziost in the Galactic War. HMC-10 had witnessed mass deaths from the Tarisian Toxic Flu and destruction of cities from proto-isotope bombs, and HMC-10's databanks included records of a bacteria that connected its hosts into a single mind until there was nothing more to infect, upon which it died. HMC-10 and another droid, B-7G2, were evacuated from the planet prior to Vitiate's wiping out of all life on the world, and when they returned to the now-desolate surface, HMC-10 refused to help B-7G2 conduct research.
