James Garth Jax (born September 16, 1963 in Houston, Texas) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys and the Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals. He attended Strake Jesuit College Preparatory before playing college football at Florida State University and was drafted in the eleventh round of the 1986 NFL Draft. Jax may be best known amongst Cardinals fans for tackling a drunk fan who ran onto the field at Sun Devil Stadium.[citation needed]
