"Big Bad John" is a country ballad co-written and originally sung by Jimmy Dean, becoming a No. 1 hit in 1961. On The Jimmy Dean Show of October 24, 1963, Dean sings it with Rowlf, retitled "Big Bad Dog" (with new lyrics decribing Rowlf himself). On the February 27, 1964 broadcast, Rowlf impersonated Jimmy Dean and sang the title "Big Bad John."
