Nebula soup was a food item suggested by Tom Paris to be added to Crewman Chell's menu in 2378 when he took over as chef from Neelix, who had departed from the USS Voyager earlier in the year. Paris had the idea when piloting Voyager through a dense nebula populated by over 47 Borg cubes. (VOY: "Endgame")
