Sonic the Hedgehog is an ongoing American comic book series published by Archie Comics, featuring Sega's video game mascot of the same name, Sonic the Hedgehog. The comic debuted in the US as a four part mini-series, published between November 1992 and February 1993. The ongoing series began in May 1993, and as of April, 2014, there had been 259 issues. In 2008, Guinness World Records formally recognized it as the longest running comic series based on a video game.
