The arte Maxwell first appears in Tales of Phantasia under the command of Klarth F. Lester. When summoned, Maxwell appears and creates numerous clones surrounded by force field. The clones then flies at the direction of the enemy, causing damage by hitting them. The arte Maxwell takes drastic changes from the original in later series. Instead of creating clones, Maxwell usually takes the form of meteors raining down on the enemies. At first, the meteors bounced around the screen, but in later games, they merely fall upon the enemy, similar to the Meteor Storm spell.
