The G71 Grenade Launcher was a personal hand-held weapon produced by Merr-Sonn Munitions during the Galactic Civil War. It could launch a variety of ordnance in a high arc over a relatively short range of a few dozen meters, making it perfect for firing over obstacles and dropping rounds on soldiers sheltering behind cover. Typically loaded with concussion-effect rounds, it was extremely effective when used against tight groups of enemy personnel, but it could also be used against more hardened targets such as buildings and some lighter armored vehicles. The Grenadier mercenary soldiers of the Zann Consortium used the G71 exclusively as their primary weapon.
