A cactus (plural cacti or cactuses) is any member of the Cactaceae family (order Caryophyllales, class Magnoliopsida, division Magnoliophyta, kingdom Plantae). They are plants adapted to hot environments; their stems have become photosynthetic; their leaves have become spines.
