Treecats called them "burrow runners". About the size of a small Old Earth dog, they were ground burrowers and looked almost nothing like Earth or Meyerdahl chipmunks. They had a lifespan of about two local years or about 10 T-years. Their burrowing abilities allowed them to dig through foundations and into greenhouses, making them a serious danger to household food storage and garbage disposal.
