Grau Soldato left his abusive and alcoholic father in Sandpoint at an early age. After receiving some training at the Orsini Academy in Korvosa, he joined the Korvosan Guard and quickly rose to the rank of Watch Sergeant. Sadly, his self-destructive tendencies overcame him, and he descended into alcoholism. Well-liked throughout the city, he is now a target of pity.
