A mountain range running east-west across the northern part of Dinotopia, forming the northern border of the Rainy Basin and ending in Crackshell Point. In ancient days, it was the seat of the Armakian Empire. The Backbone Mountains are the home of many large mammalian species, as well as the Tentpole of the Sky.
