Cooling blankets are a medical device used in the treatment of high fever and hyperthermia. They are made by several different manufacturers but generally consist of a cloth covering over a plastic interior through which a fluid flows. The fluid can either be supplied by an external source (such as a cold water source), or by a recirculating source that travels through a heat pump.
