The XDY-9 Laser Cannon, also known as the Imperial ground laser or the Heavy ground laser was a large, powerful heavy laser cannon in use during the last days of the Galactic Republic and served until several years before the fall of the Great Galactic Empire. With a barrel caliber of 19 inches (483 millimeters), it was very capable of puncturing starship shields and taking out heavy ground armor.
