Commander Joseph Pomeroy was a Starfleet officer in the mid 23rd century and was the chief medical officer of the Federation starship USS John Paul Jones. He succeeded Jack McLaughlin in that position. (Star Trek: Remington: Anthologies: "John Paul Jones")
