Lardtail was a male rat in the horde of Swartt Sixclaw, who was the ally of Wildag, a ferret captain disgruntled with Swartt's leadership. Upon learning of the pair's disloyalty, Swartt confronted the two, and forced Lardtail to feed a whole crow (the mother of Krakulat) to Wildag, killing him. For "murdering" a captain, Swartt had his two weasel assassins, Scarback and Marbul, slay Lardtail.
