The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) was established in 1964 and is the principle organization of the United Nations General Assembly in the field of trade and development. The main goals of UNCTAD are to maximize the trade, investment and development opportunities of developing countries, and to help them face the challenges arising from globalization and integrate into the global economy.
