Arne was a scientist who worked for the Hutt Cartel on the planet Makeb during the Galactic War. When the number of groundquakes increased after the Hutts began drilling for isotope-5, Arne suspected that the work Arne and Max were doing for the Hutts was causing the groundquakes and would lead to the world's destruction. To confirm this, Arne set up sensors to track the effects of the Hutts' drilling lasers on Makeb's core. Max agreed with Arne's suspicions, though grew concerned when Arne failed to respond to Max's messages.
