Yomura was the paperer of the village of Mimura. He bought rice straw from the peasants, pounded it into pulp, dried it, and stretched and formed it into paper. Yomura was a nice, successful, skilled, young, and healthy man. He lived as a single with the ronin Hitsu, who hired him a room.
