.sport is a proposed generic top-level domain (gTLD) for the sport community. An official proposal to ICANN has not been made at this stage. The main goals of .sport is to improve the visibility of sports related web sites on the Internet. The proposed Request for Proposal for new TLDs will be brought before the ICANN meeting in late 2008 with the review and approval process taking several months.
