Plato Mahn was a Neimoidian Jedi Knight and the descendent of the former Confederacy of Independent Systems soldier, Tavris Mahn. He was the son of a member of the Neimoidian Gunnery Battalion, and was not raised in a hive, as his father believed that it bred cowardice, instead being raised to value honor and strength in combat, lessons which Mahn remembered well throughout his life. When he was discovered to be Force sensitive he was taken to the New Jedi Temple on Coruscant in order to train in the ways of the Jedi.
