She, along with her husband and son, lived in the mining town of Rejection and operated Chang's Market, the town's only store. Througout the movie she complained about how things were different to China, but in the end was the first person to agree to Hiram's plan to defend the town, revealing that she was the one that moved her family from China and didn't really want to go back.
