Paul Chan was the student body president of Smallville High School. Early in the race, he was stung by a swarm of bees under the control of Sasha Woodman, a meteor freak and fellow candidate for the student body presidency. Although he was recovering in the hospital during the campaign, Paul managed to win the election due to his qualification and endorsement by Chloe Sullivan in the Smallville Torch. His victory was celebrated at the Talon.
