On the planet Kandalath, the Eleventh Doctor, Amy Pond and Rory Williams are enjoying a beautiful world, full of amazing creatures, from the back of Halohawks — equine creatures that fly through the sky. Willing beasts of burden, they offer transportation for the Kandalath in return for having their young fed — symbiosis. When they return the Halohawks to Jando, they find him sad. Offworld poachers have been stealing the eggs. It is growing harder to raise new halohawks. The Doctor, Amy and Rory find a nest, lie in wait to catch the poachers, but are attacked by the Halohawks.
