The Mythgraven Blade is the first weapon Cecil can equip when he is transformed into a Paladin. This weapon is metallic. It's a key item that can neither be sold nor discarded by the player. It is useful as the only Holy-elemental weapon Cecil can use until he acquires the Lustrous Sword in the Sealed Cave, and is effective against undead. Later, the player can take this blade along with a piece of Adamantite (which can be obtained giving the man in the Mythril Caves a Rat's Tail) to Kokkol in his smithy in order to transform it into the Excalibur.
