To collect ingredients, users had to search between the different biomes until the said ingredient appeared at random. Multiples of all ingredients could be collected. Once a potion was successfully brewed, it could be used where a set menu of applicable dragons for that potion would appear. Choosing a dragon would cause a "poof" animation over the dragon, and the sprite temporarily changed in some way. Another potion could not be used on the same dragon until the previous one had worn off. The following message appeared when using a potion: "You give the potion, and something...interesting happens."
