Lucious and Jessica were lovers that died in the sinking of the Lady Anne. Before he died, he swore allegiance to the Water Demon so that he would be free after 100 years. When it was revealed that the Water Demon had lied to him about freedom, he begged the demon to take him back and leave Jessica alone, who in turn wanted the demon to take her and spare Lucious. Both were free after the Ghostbusters defeated and captured the Water Demon.
