Sovetsk (Russian: Сове́тск) was a city in southwestern Russia. It was home to the Sovetsk Direction Senior High, whose American football team was known as the Большая Красная Машина (The Big Red Machine) even though, like all its sports teams, they were officially known as the Kants. Due to their successes in major high school sporting events, Sovetsk had an intense rivalry with Tournai, which played out with their respective magnet high schools as proxies.
