Admiral Drazman – nicknamed "Droner" for his dull personality – was the commander of the Proxima Maintenance Yards. In 2371, the senior staff of Deep Space 9 was asked to attend an annual Starfleet symposium on the Gamma Quadrant, which was being held on Earth. Drazman, who was on Earth, sent an invitation to the senior staff to a formal dinner. Commander Benjamin Sisko, Lieutenant Julian Bashir, and Lieutenant Jadzia Dax accepted the invitation.
