Cinder Smith was a 17 year old railroad employee placed in charge of a small relay station in the Canadian Rockies. Despite the remoteness of his outpost, Cinder would continuously find himself embroiled in a variety of train-based adventures battling kidnappers and thieves. In his only coloured appearance, Cinder Smith prevented Ape Hogan from extorting money out of the tramps that ride the train!
