Michael O'Hagan appeared in just ten episodes of Coronation Street in January and February 1980 as cafe owner Jim Sedgewick but his character’s influence remained in the programme for many years thereafter as the eponymous Jim's Cafe became a stable setting within the programme for another seventeen years and long-term regular Amanda Barrie appeared as his wife Alma Sedgewick as a regular in the programme for almost as long, although the two never appeared on screen together.
