The USS Cuffe was a Nebula-class vessel named in honor of Paul Cuffe, the famed 18th and 19th century African-American entrepreneur and explorer. The Cuffe was constructed at Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards in July 2364 under the supervision of Commander Ra-Mitri. (Dark Territory) Originally under the command of Captain Sabrina Diaz, First Officer Terrence S. Glover was awarded the captain's seat in 2370 after a disastrous mission in the Tong Beak Nebula. The Cuffe's dedication plaque read: Sa pere aude, a Latin phrase that means "Dare to be wise".
