The XKM 687 PA droid was a general-purpose protocol droid produced by Tryuin Industries during its waning years. It had a robust, minimalist design and was programmed with languages and customs from across the galaxy. Although technically inferior to protocol droids produced by Cybot Galactica, it was cheaper, and Tryuin spent millions on a vast advertising campaign. Nonetheless, the XKM remained obscure, and soon Tryuin ceased production, counting it as another failure.
