Johnny Dynamite was a hard-boiled private detective, known as "The Wild Man from Chicago." He was a tough guy with contacts on both sides of the law. He was good friends with a DA, but was readily accepted by denizens of the underworld. His office was on State Street in a big city (probably New York). Johnny was shot in the right eye by Myra Benz, who tried to knock him off with a gun disguised as a camera. After losing the eye, Johnny wore a patch.
