The 1956-43 was a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) - Pacific Coast Late Model Series combination event held at Portland Speedway on August 26, 1956. Royce Haggerty won his only career race after a scoring error ended the race early with Haggerty beating Clyde Palmer. Eventual season champion Buck Baker and most of the other higher-tier drivers did not race in the event, as they had raced the previous night at Myrtle Beach Speedway. Stats
