Aschen monitoring satellites are seen in an alternate timeline where Earth had become a member of the Aschen Confederation, several of these satellites monitored all activity in Earth's solar system. The satellites could be used to see changes in the sun and thus predict solar flare activities. The use of them to predict a solar flare was demonstrated by Samantha Carter in an attempt to find a solar flare that would allow them to send a note back to the past. (SG1: "2010")
