DS Ray Holmes searched for dementia sufferer Ashley Thomas after he managed to walk out of his care home wearing his cassock in March 2017. DS Holmes called round to Mulberry Cottage to assure Ashley's distressed family that his disappearance was being treated as high priority and all available officers were conducting the search. DS Holmes explained that CCTV showed that Ashley had managed to get out of the care home as a visitor had held open the door for him. Ashley was found the following day in a church courtyard.
