Hurricane Anthony was the first Subtropical Storm to attain 75 mph winds without becoming tropical since the naming of subtropical cyclones. Inttially for 3 months after its formation it was thought to have been subtropical form the entire time, but re-analysis on August 26, 2007 showed tha Anthony had become tropical a short time after reaching hurricane intensity.
