The Devoted Technician was one of many such monuments that was erected in the reclaimed Monument Plaza on Coruscant, constructed by the Reconstruction Authority in the wake of the Yuuzhan Vong War. Depicting a technician, it was intended as a tribute to the billions of beings and droids who had worked under the Authority's mandate to rebuild the galaxy after the destruction wrought by that conflict.
