Matu Bestia was a Dark Master in the Dark Jedi of the Bogan during the Hutt War between the Galactic Republic and the Hutt Empire in 12,979 BBY. A Marauder, he specialized in combat, which he represented using the tiger, the ancient symbol of his family. Born in 13,006 BBY, Bestia was taken into the Jedi Order as a child and was assigned to a caretaker until he was seven years old, at which time the Conclave on Ossus resulted in a schism in the Order and the creation of the Ospion Guardians. Both Bestia and his caretaker fled with the Ospion into the Outer Rim Territories following the end of the Alsakan Crisis.
