The Republic of the Serenity of Aqualis is the most prominent government of the planet of Aqualis. The Republic is a direct democracy that see it's representations through a group of Senators that vote according to a prior vote of their constituents. The Republic has been in existence since the planet's colonization. This was true even when the Independent Coalition of Systems moved its capital to Aqualis in the years immediately following the Catastrophe of the Star. The Republic was not removed from power nor did it see any derease in that power. Most of the Republic citizens were unaffected by the presence of the Coalition government.
