The Onyx Hook is an item in EarthBound Beginnings. It is obtained within Magicant's Crystal Cavern, but the Fish must be first be defeated in order to claim it. Afterwards, the Fish allows Ninten to access a small underground room, containing a lone present box with the Onyx Hook. The Onyx Hook is a vital item; it can be used to warp back to Magicant, proving its use at various points in the game (such as when the sixth melody must be recorded from the Dragon). However, in order to return back to the normal world, Teleportation must be used. Until it is learned, Ninten must trek through the Crystal Cavern and exit via a nearby shell.
