Sofie Arnault is the granddaughter of Arnault Offshore's Farris Arnault. During a meeting between Conrad Grayson and his attorney, where they decided that his son can only get his company shares once he's married or 30, he becomes determined to see to it that Daniel indeed becomes "distracted" from his apparently serious relationship with Emily Thorne. So he invites over Sofie Arnault to his office as a prospective investor and leaves just as Daniel arrives, leaving the two to each other. As Daniel seems intent on her business dealings, Sofie flirts with him, making known to Daniel his father's plots and set-up.
