The Energy Carbine is a recoil-operated semi-automatic weapon. The Energy Carbine serves as the Protoss' medium to long-range weapon and fires a 8mm caseless psionic projectile. The weapon's design is very basic, with unique differences from Terran weaponry. The first is its battery placement, which is located right above the trigger guard - the weapon's cylindrical battery holds approximately 300 shots worth of psionic energy, and also provides indication of battery level and approximate number of shots left in the battery using holographic display.
