The Post-Endor Imperial power struggle was an internal conflict within the Galactic Empire lasting from 4 ABY to 8 ABY. The power struggle was a devastating episode for the Empire and resulted in the utter collapse of the Imperial hegemony and the elimination of more than half the Imperial military. The effects of the power struggle would allow the New Republic to establish its government, military, and economy.
