A year after the 2014 fire, construction still had not started on a replacement building and the fire department remains in temporary quarters. The provincial government was studying whether to combine Nackawic with the Millville Fire Department, which also lost its station to a fire. The province ruled that it wasn't a viable option to combine the two departments. Nackawic Volunteer Fire will rebuild its own station, with a decision on Millville Fire Department (New Brunswick) not made at this time. (updated July 22, 2015)
