He constantly scanned the Bajoran system for Klingon-Cardassian Alliance activity in case of a sneak attack on the station. (DS9 - Mirror Universe novel: Saturn's Children) For his part, Sloan found it difficult to believe that there was any version of Bashir who was not a "complete jerk." (DS9 novel: The Soul Key) Several weeks later, Sloan was killed when the Cardassian Ninth Order destroyed Terok Nor.
